Roshni Helpline

Roshni Helpline, also known as Roshni Research and Development Welfare Organization, is Pakistan’s first nonprofit organization devoted to the cause of missing and exploited children. Since our inception in 2003, we have safely recovered more than 9,600 missing children and returned them to their families. We also provide psychological support to families of missing children and to recovered children.

In addition, we have been working closely with law enforcement agencies as well as legislators to improve mechanisms for the protection of children and for the safe recovery of missing children. We also educate the public on issues related to child protection and conduct child safety workshops in schools.

Our founder, Muhammad Ali, is a human rights activist who has been working on child protection issues in Pakistan for over 30 years. He founded Roshni Helpline in 2003 and single-handedly pioneered a unique and highly acclaimed approach to finding missing children.

In 2008, he was awarded the prestigious Ashoka Foundation Fellowship for his outstanding contribution to the cause of missing children. In 2014, he was selected as an Acumen Fund Fellow in recognition of his achievements.
