Incorporated in 2003, Unicol Limited is a joint venture distillery project between Mirpurkhas Sugar Mills Limited, Faran Sugar Mills Limited and Mehran Sugar Mills Limited. On commencement of operations in February 2007, the Company is in the business of producing and marketing ethanol from molasses.

Unicol has designed capacity to produce 100,000 liters or 80 metric tons of ethanol per day. The plant is designed by Interis of France. The Government of Pakistan has shown keen interest in adopting fuel-ethanol program and has recently taken certain initiatives in this regard to promote this industry.
