Zarrar & Co. is looking for a diligent and organized Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support the successful execution of our projects. The APM assists the Project Manager in coordinating daily project operations, ensuring tasks are completed on schedule, and maintaining clear communication among various stakeholders including site engineers, contractors, and consultants. The ideal candidate will track project progress, budget, and resources meticulously while ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and project specifications. This role requires a strong focus on documentation, reporting, and coordination to keep projects on track and aligned with company standards. The Assistant Project Manager supports planning for manpower, materials, and equipment and actively participates in problem-solving and risk management to mitigate potential delays or issues on site. Although this position does not involve team management, it demands excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication with multiple departments such as procurement and stores, as well as client and consultant coordination when necessary. The APM plays a crucial role in maintaining project documentation standards and preparing reports that inform senior management, thereby contributing to the overall success and timely completion of projects.
Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager in daily project operations and task coordination.
  • Coordinate activities and communication between site engineers, contractors, and consultants.
  • Monitor project progress against schedules and report on milestones accurately.
  • Prepare detailed daily, weekly, and monthly project progress reports.
  • Follow up on project schedules and ensure timely work execution.
  • Ensure all work is completed according to project drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Assist in planning and scheduling manpower, materials, and equipment required for projects.
  • Monitor site activities to identify and resolve any coordination or operational issues.
  • Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date project documentation and records in accordance with project documentation standards.
  • Coordinate with procurement and store departments to ensure timely availability of resources.
  • Track project costs, monitor budget updates, and support financial tracking activities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality assurance standards on-site.
  • Attend project meetings, document Minutes of Meeting (MOM), and communicate updates effectively.
  • Support billing processes, verification of Bills of Quantities (BOQ), and quantity assessments.
  • Communicate project updates, risks, and progress to senior management on a regular basis.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance, ensuring tasks are completed on time and to specification.
  • Assist in risk management by identifying potential issues and contributing to problem-solving efforts.
  • Ensure timely completion of project milestones and deliverables within the planned timelines.
  • Facilitate coordination between clients, consultants, and project teams as necessary.
  • Maintain smooth workflow and communication between different project departments to support seamless project execution.
