Role & Responsibilities
- Draft and review agreements, commercial contracts and other legal documents to ensure protection of company’s legal rights and minimise exposure
- Review sales and marketing materials to ensure legal compliance
- Research and analyse relevant laws and regulations for impact assessment on business.
- Monitor corporate governance and compliance protocols for internal and operational processes
- Advise on commercial and corporate matters, developing creative, practical and cost-effective solutions
- Assist Head of Legal on strategic development, organisational and project-based
- Act as a direct resource for internal legal queries, assist with litigation matters
- Provide regular updates on new laws and regulations relevant to the business
Requirements
- Must be licenced to practice as an Advocate of the High Courts
- Minimum five years related experience, preferably in-house
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of labour law; transactional, commercial and corporate law and procedures; international ventures; intellectual property law
- Demonstrated ability to create out-of-the-box legal strategies
- Able to work independently with limited supervision
- Able to work under and meet demanding deadlines
- Strong work ethic and ability to multitask
