Purchaser

The Purchaser is responsible for managing the procurement of goods and services for the company. This role involves researching suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products and services at competitive prices. The Purchaser works closely with various departments to understand their needs and ensure efficient and cost-effective purchasing practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Supplier Management:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers.
- Conduct supplier performance reviews and manage supplier performance issues.
Purchasing Process:
- Prepare and process purchase orders.
- Negotiate prices, terms, and conditions with suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Monitor and track orders to ensure timely delivery.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the warehouse to ensure adequate stock.
- Manage inventory discrepancies and resolve issues.
- Conduct regular inventory audits.
Cost Control:
- Analyze market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Develop and implement strategies for cost reduction and value improvement.
- Ensure budget adherence and optimize purchasing costs.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with various departments to understand their procurement needs.
- Coordinate with the finance department to ensure timely payment of invoices.
- Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure products meet quality standards.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
- Prepare and present reports on purchasing activities and cost savings.
- Ensure proper documentation of all purchasing transactions.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement.

Skills:

Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing software.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

Working Conditions:

Typical office environment with occasional travel to supplier locations.
May require working outside regular business hours to meet deadlines or resolve urgent issues.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit for extended periods.
