Job Brief:

We are looking for a skilled Generator Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance/service, and repair of generator systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance on generator sets, including oil changes, filter replacements, and coolant level checks.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues within generator systems, such as failures in starting, operating inefficiencies, or unexpected shutdowns.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices to ensure compatibility and safety.
  • Install new generator sets and electrical components, following engineering specifications and adhering to local, state, and national electrical codes.
  • Calibrate and adjust generator control panels and equipment to ensure that the generators operate within specified parameters.
  • Provide emergency on-call support for generator failures or power outages, including troubleshooting and repairs at any hour to minimize downtime.
  • Document service actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records, maintaining accurate records of maintenance, repair, and replacement activities.
  • Train clients or end-users on the proper operation and basic maintenance of generator sets to ensure safe and efficient use.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Generator Technician or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools and testing devices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to train others.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various job sites.
  • Understands English.
  • Computer literate. 
  • Relevant certifications are a plus.
