Work Together seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor specializing in Bill of Quantities (BOQ) preparation to join our team. The ideal candidate has a minimum of eight years of industry experience and is adept at detailed cost estimation and tender analysis within the construction sector. This role involves managing a team of two professionals, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of quantity surveying tasks while collaborating closely with project managers and other stakeholders. The Quantity Surveyor will utilize industry-standard BOQ software and tools to produce precise material and labor cost calculations essential for project budgeting and control. This position demands a strong understanding of construction estimating, project cost management, and proficiency with software such as AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel. The successful applicant will lead the preparation, review, and finalization of Bill of Quantities documents and provide insightful tender evaluations to support sound financial decisions in construction projects. Effective management of a small team requires clear communication, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to maintaining high levels of accuracy and efficiency in all deliverables.
Responsibilities

  • Prepare and develop detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ) using industry-standard software to support construction projects.
  • Conduct thorough cost estimation, including materials, labor, and equipment, ensuring accurate budget forecasting.
  • Analyze and evaluate tender documents and bids to identify the most cost-effective and efficient project solutions.
  • Manage and oversee a team of two quantity surveyors, providing guidance, training, and support to optimize team performance.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure alignment on project scope, requirements, and budget constraints.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel to extract relevant data and enhance the quality and accuracy of quantity assessments.
  • Monitor project costs and report any variances promptly, suggesting corrective actions to maintain financial control.
  • Review and update cost estimates regularly to reflect changes in project scope, market prices, or client requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of all quantity surveying activities, including documentation related to BOQ preparation and tender analysis.
  • Support procurement by assessing material quantities and specifications to ensure compliance with project standards and cost-efficiency.
  • Implement best practices in project cost management to improve estimating processes and overall project profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and company policies throughout all stages of quantity surveying.
  • Provide detailed reports and presentations to senior management and clients on project cost status and tender evaluation outcomes.
