Wafiq Stores is seeking a dedicated Procurement Officer who specializes in managing supplier relationships and driving effective procurement strategies. The ideal candidate has a minimum of five years of experience in procurement functions, preferably with exposure to reputable companies such as Imtaiz Mega, Green Welly, Cosmo, Care 4, Metro Cash and Carry, Madina Cash and Carry, Dewatson, or Shaheen Chemist. This role focuses on sourcing quality products, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely inventory replenishment to support the companys retail operations. Although this position does not include team management responsibilities, the Procurement Officer collaborates closely with logistics, finance, and store departments to meet organizational goals efficiently.
In this role, the Procurement Officer is expected to utilize strong analytical and negotiation skills to maintain a robust supplier network and optimize procurement processes. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in inventory management and contract negotiation to uphold cost-effectiveness and product availability within Wafiq Stores. By leveraging industry knowledge and procurement best practices, the officer ensures compliance with company policies and contributes to the overall operational success and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company objectives and enhance supply chain efficiency.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure favorable terms and reliable supply sources.
- Conduct thorough market research and supplier evaluation to identify potential vendors and negotiate contracts.
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process including order placement, invoice verification, and supplier performance monitoring.
- Monitor and control inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess stock and coordinate with warehouse and stores.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, legal regulations, and ethical procurement standards.
- Collaborate with internal departments to forecast procurement needs and support timely delivery of goods.
- Analyze procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize purchasing decisions.
- Resolve supplier disputes and handle any issues related to delivery, quality, or contractual terms.
- Prepare procurement reports and maintain accurate documentation for audit and review purposes.
