We are seeking a talented and experienced WordPress Web Designer/Developer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-quality WordPress websites, troubleshooting technical issues, performing regular maintenance, and optimizing sites for SEO. This position requires both creative design skills and a strong technical background to ensure that our clients’ websites are visually appealing, functional, and optimized for search engines.
Key Responsibilities
- Website Design & Development: Design and develop custom WordPress websites, ensuring responsive, visually engaging, and user-friendly interfaces.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Regularly update WordPress core, themes, and plugins. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues such as bugs, performance problems, and security vulnerabilities.
- Custom Theme & Plugin Development: Customize WordPress themes and plugins to meet specific client needs.
- SEO Optimization: Implement on-page SEO best practices, including keyword optimization, metadata management, and improving website speed and performance.
- Content Management: Assist with updating website content, ensuring consistency with client brand guidelines and UX best practices.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a WordPress designer/developer with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
- Experience with WordPress page builders (e.g., Elementor, WPBakery, BeTheme).
- Knowledge of SEO best practices and tools (Yoast SEO, Rank Math, etc.).
- Experience troubleshooting WordPress websites, including resolving plugin conflicts and debugging.
- Strong understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility.
- Experience with website security measures (SSL, backups, etc.).
Preferred Skills
- Experience with eCommerce platforms (WooCommerce).
- Knowledge of UX/UI best practices.
- Familiarity with website hosting environments and migration of WordPress sites.
- Basic knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Photoshop, Figma, Canva).
- Familiarity with email marketing integration (Mailchimp, etc.).
- Ability to customize themes and build custom plugins.
- Familiarity with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and website performance optimization.
Soft Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with clients and internal teams.
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
