In this role, you will lead key architectural decisions and mentor junior developers while managing core platform development activities. You will be responsible for integrating vital components such as DVLA data, auction engines, and payment systems, ensuring the system adheres to high standards of security, performance, and maintainability. Additionally, you will guide the technical development of AI and valuation logic for the minimum viable product (MVP), playing a pivotal role in shaping the product roadmap and aligning it with UK-specific requirements. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to deliver robust, scalable solutions and foster a positive team dynamic in a fast-paced startup environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and architecture of the entire software platform to support scalable and maintainable systems.
- Oversee all stages of development, including coding, code review, testing, and deployment activities.
- Ensure high code quality through rigorous code review practices and implement industry-standard quality assurance processes.
- Manage and mentor a small team of developers, providing guidance and support to foster professional growth and productivity.
- Coordinate with the founder and UK stakeholders to align product features with market needs and priorities.
- Develop and maintain APIs, integrations with third-party services such as payment gateways, DVLA data sources, and real-time auction engines.
- Establish continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline release cycles and maintain system reliability.
- Design and implement secure, efficient backend services using technologies such as Node.js and Python.
- Build responsive, dynamic frontend and mobile applications using React, React Native, or Flutter.
- Manage and optimize databases including PostgreSQL and MongoDB to ensure data integrity and performance.
- Lead the initial setup and ongoing development of AI and valuation logic for the MVP product.
- Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations such as GDPR and UK GDPR where applicable.
- Support collaboration through clear and frequent communication, maintaining at least 3-4 hours overlap with UK time zones daily.
- Participate in technical discussions, architecture design reviews, and contribute to continuous process improvements.
- Work onsite in Lahore five days a week to facilitate effective teamwork and direct interaction with the founding team.
