You will be responsible in a caps manufacturing company typically handles procurement activities and ensures the seamless supply of raw materials, equipment, and services required for production. Here are the key responsibilities:

1. Procurement Planning

  • Identify the materials, components, and equipment needed for manufacturing Tetra Pak caps.
  • Develop a procurement plan based on production schedules and inventory levels.
  • Maintain a balance between cost efficiency and timely availability.

2. Vendor Management

  • Source and evaluate potential suppliers for raw materials like plastic resins, dyes, and additives.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers while exploring new sources for quality and cost efficiency.

3. Inventory Management

  • Monitor inventory levels to avoid overstocking or shortages.
  • Coordinate with the production and warehousing teams to ensure materials are available when needed.
  • Implement just-in-time (JIT) strategies to minimize waste and storage costs.

4. Quality Assurance

  • Ensure purchased materials meet company quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Control department to address issues with defective or substandard supplies.
  • Perform periodic audits of suppliers to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.

5. Cost Management

  • Analyze market trends to predict price fluctuations and secure favorable terms.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for procurement activities.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality.

6. Logistics Coordination

  • Oversee the transportation and delivery of goods from suppliers to the manufacturing facility.
  • Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, if applicable.
  • Manage documentation for shipments, including invoices and purchase orders.

7. Risk Management

  • Mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, such as delays or supplier insolvency.
  • Develop contingency plans to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Monitor market trends and geopolitical factors that could impact supply chains.

8. Data and Reporting

  • Maintain records of purchase orders, supplier contracts, and inventory reports.
  • Use ERP systems for efficient procurement and inventory tracking.
  • Generate periodic reports on procurement performance, cost savings, and vendor reliability.

9. Sustainability and Compliance

  • Support eco-friendly sourcing and waste reduction initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international laws related to materials and procurement.
  • Advocate for sustainable practices in the supply chain, such as recyclable materials.

10. Collaboration

  • Work closely with the production, quality assurance, finance, and logistics teams to align procurement activities with organizational goals.
