1.      Work with the colleagues to take the lead in establishing and shaping the respective specialist services for the hospital as per Minimum Health Service Delivery Package (MHSDP)

2.      Share with colleagues the department workload

3.      Smooth running of the department and for devising systems for improving standards of patient care in terms of Clinical Governance

4.      Policy developments within the unit to include the establishment and regular review of operational policies

5.      Develop clinical Audit and research interests

6.      Give a consultation and advisory service in other specialties under administration of MERF in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

7.      Liaise with medical staff in other specialties and participate in the regular clinical meetings and if required in the future other post-graduate activities of the hospital.

8.      Play a full part in the teaching and audit activities of the department, and be involved in providing professional supervision and management of junior medical staff.

9.      Ensure implementation of infection prevention protocols and Healthcare waste management system

10.   Provide with the other colleagues a system of mutual out-of-hours cover and cover for leave

11.   Human Resource working in his/ her unit

·        Ensuring timely attendance and purposeful presence of both Technical and Support Staff

·        Ensuring staff Identity through specified uniform and service card

·        Develop and Implement Duty Roster of all Staff

·        All leaves must be endorsed by the Unit/Department Head before the Hospital Administration

·        Yearly appraisal of the staff

·        Develop and maintain computerized record management systems to store and process data such as personnel activities and information, and to produce reports

12.   Will be the focal person for the asset and inventory of the Unit/Department

13.   Responsible for establishing mechanism for timely gathering and analyzing data and using it to plan and manage services (Evidence-based decision-making).

14.   Extrapolating data for monitoring purposes and quality assurance

15.   Ensure true implementation of established grievance redressal mechanism

16.   Assist the Hospital Technical team in preparing activity reports to inform higher management of the status and implementation plans of programs, services, and quality initiatives.

17.   The job description will be reviewed annually to ensure fulfillment of contractual obligations
