We are seeking a part-time, on-site Urdu Language Teacher based in Karachi to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching Urdu to non-native speakers across various proficiency levels. This role requires the ability to explain Urdu language concepts clearly in English, develop and deliver engaging lesson plans, and tailor instruction to meet the diverse needs of individual learners. The position operates during morning hours and involves some travel within the city.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Urdu language to students with different levels of proficiency, focusing on both spoken and written skills.
- Explain complex Urdu linguistic concepts in English to facilitate better understanding.
- Prepare, plan, and organize lesson materials and activities that align with learners’ needs and goals.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate individual learning styles and progress.
- Monitor and assess student performance regularly, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
- Maintain a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and confidence.
- Coordinate with administrative staff regarding scheduling and student progress reports.
- Travel as required to different teaching locations within Karachi.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Urdu or a closely related field.
- Minimum of three years of teaching experience, preferably with non-native Urdu learners.
- Fluency in both Urdu and English, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages.
- Strong knowledge of Urdu linguistics, grammar, and cultural context.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage students and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently during morning shifts.
