Upwork Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Upwork/Technical Bidding Specialist with at least one year of proven expertise in bidding on and winning software development contracts. In this role, you will analyze technical project briefs, define software solution scopes, and create customized technical proposals primarily for Upwork, along with other secondary platforms. Acting as the initial point of contact for technical buyers, you will establish our agency’s credibility before involving the engineering team. This position demands strong technical understanding, excellent written communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to close software development projects successfully on Upwork.

Key Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate incoming project briefs from Upwork on a daily basis.
- Assess technical feasibility, project scope, and client suitability to ensure alignment with agency capabilities.
- Draft tailored, high-conversion proposals that address client requirements, technology stacks, and pain points.
- Manage initial client communications by asking relevant technical discovery questions and clarifying project scope prior to engaging engineers.
- Present technical case studies and live demos to build client confidence and demonstrate expertise.
- Maintain consistent proposal submission activity and accurately track lead statuses.
- Monitor proposal responses, conversion rates, and win metrics to continuously refine bidding strategies.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of hands-on technical bidding experience within software development agencies or IT services.
- Ability to read, interpret, and deconstruct complex technical project briefs, including those involving AI, custom web applications, APIs, and databases.
- Proven track record of bidding on, qualifying, and closing software development projects on Upwork.
- Strong command of written English with the ability to craft bespoke, non-generic proposals without reliance on low-effort AI-generated content.
- Skilled at translating client requirements into clear acceptance criteria, technical discovery questions, and project milestones.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Background in software engineering, technical writing, or project scoping is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with secondary lead-generation channels such as LinkedIn outreach and Clutch is an advantage.
- Understanding of software development processes and technical terminology will enhance effectiveness in this role.

The ideal candidate will do more than just submit proposals. They will thoroughly understand complex technical requirements, identify suitable solutions, ask insightful questions, showcase relevant portfolio work, and convert qualified leads into successful software development projects.

This is an in-person role based in Valencia, Lahore, offering a monthly salary range of Rs70,000 to Rs80,000.
