Job Description

Background & Purpose

The Reporting Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring accurate, timely, and strategic reporting on WHO’s programs, activities, and donor-funded initiatives. The position is responsible for compiling, analyzing, and presenting data to facilitate informed decision-making, enhance donor accountability, and support WHO’s strategic communication efforts. The officer will ensure that all reporting aligns with WHO standards, donor requirements, and UN frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of Senior Programme Management Officer, the incumbent shall perform below tasks:

  • Develop and manage WHO’s reporting framework, ensuring timely, high-quality, and data-driven reports for internal and external stakeholders, including donors, government counterparts, and UN agencies.
  • Prepare and consolidate periodic programmatic and financial reports, including situation reports (SitReps), donor reports, annual reports, and ad-hoc updates, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with WHO’s strategic objectives.
  • Liaise with program teams, technical officers, and field staff to collect, verify, and synthesize key data on health interventions, emergency response, and WHO-supported initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with donor reporting requirements, tracking deadlines and developing standardized reporting templates to improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Analyze program performance data and highlight key achievements, trends, challenges, and lessons learned to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Develop compelling narratives and data visualizations, integrating infographics, charts, and other visual tools to enhance the clarity and impact of reports.
  • Support the development of WHO’s country office performance monitoring tools, ensuring alignment with the country’s health priorities and WHO’s global frameworks.
  • Coordinate with communication teams to integrate success stories, case studies, and impact testimonials into reports, showcasing WHO’s contributions to public health.
  • Monitor and track reporting commitments, maintaining an up-to-date database of donor and partner reporting schedules, submission deadlines, and compliance status.
  • Support the preparation of briefing notes, talking points, and presentations for senior management and external stakeholders based on reporting insights.
  • Train and build capacity within program teams on reporting best practices, data collection methodologies, and donor compliance requirements.
  • Ensure reporting aligns with WHO’s global and regional strategic priorities, including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), GPW 13, and the UN Cooperation Framework.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the supervisor to support WHO’s reporting and documentation functions.

Recruitment Profile

Education:

Completion of Secondary school certificate is mandatory. Bachelor’s degree either in Public Health, or International Development, or Social Sciences, Journalism, or Communications, or Political Science, or Business Administration, or Monitoring & Evaluation, or Statistics or Data Science is an asset.

Experience:

At least eight years of experience in reporting, data analysis, monitoring & evaluation, or donor relations within international organizations, public health agencies, or humanitarian settings. Experience working with UN agencies, WHO, or international NGOs is an asset.

Functional Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proven experience in reporting, data analysis, and strategic documentation in an international or public health setting.
  • Strong understanding of donor reporting requirements, particularly those of key global health partners such as WHO, UN agencies, and major donors.
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills, capable of transforming complex program data into clear, compelling narratives.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools, such as Power BI, Tableau, or advanced Excel, to create impactful reports.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to track multiple reporting deadlines and ensure compliance.
  • Experience working with WHO or the UN system is an asset, particularly in emergency response or global health programs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to operate MS Office tools including MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Language: Good knowledge of English and local language (Urdu).

LICA is a non-staff contract whereby the signatory has the status of a contractor and not considered in any respect as being a staff member of either the World Health Organization (WHO) or UNOPS. As such, there will be no employer-employee relationship between the signatory and the contracting Organization.
