System & Network Administrator

Tropical Software Solutions is seeking a skilled System & Network Administrator with at least four years of professional experience to manage and maintain the companys IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate possesses in-depth knowledge of network configuration, security management, and cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on both Windows and Linux environments. This role covers a broad range of responsibilities including deploying and managing VoIP communication systems, administering virtualization technologies like VMware ESXi and Hyper-V, and overseeing cloud services across platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Kamatera, and DigitalOcean. The candidate will also handle critical server and database operations such as Active Directory, Microsoft SQL Server, IIS web hosting, and firewall configuration with SonicWall solutions. This position does not require team management but requires effective coordination with various departments to ensure a secure and efficient IT environment.
Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and manage VoIP communication systems including SIP protocols, IP phones, IVR, and ring groups to ensure seamless communication.
Administer and maintain cloud infrastructure solutions on Microsoft Azure, Kamatera, and DigitalOcean platforms to support company applications and services.
Manage Windows and Linux servers, including virtualization platforms such as VMware ESXi and Hyper-V, across production and staging environments.
Configure and maintain Active Directory, Group Policies, file servers, data backups, and disaster recovery strategies to safeguard company data.
Deploy, secure, and manage IIS web applications, SSL certificates, WHMCS, and hosting environments to support web service availability and security.
Install, optimize, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases, ensuring data integrity and performance efficiency.
Configure and secure SonicWall firewalls, endpoint protection, and network access policies to protect the network from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
Manage multiple Linux distributions including AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, CloudLinux, and telephony solutions with VitalPBX to maintain service continuity.
Provide comprehensive end-user IT support including G Suite management, email services administration, and resolving network connectivity issues.
Install, configure, and maintain surveillance systems such as CCTV, Digital Video Recorders (DVR), and biometric attendance systems to support physical security measures.
Lead infrastructure upgrade initiatives, server migration projects, virtualization deployments, and implement security enhancements to improve overall IT capabilities.
Monitor system health and network performance proactively to detect and resolve potential issues before impacting operations.
Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, system updates, and technical procedures to ensure organizational knowledge retention.
Coordinate with vendors and external service providers to acquire hardware, software, and technical support as necessary.
Stay updated with emerging technologies, security trends, and best practices to continuously improve the companys IT environment.
