AI Engineer

Tropical Software Solutions is seeking a skilled AI Engineer to design, develop, and deploy artificial intelligence and large language model-powered applications in a production environment. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of experience working with AI/LLM technologies and is proficient in .NET and C#, with Python as a plus. This role involves building and optimizing retrieval augmented generation pipelines using vector databases like pgvector, Pinecone, or Weaviate. The AI Engineer will architect and implement multi-agent AI systems incorporating memory, planning, and tool integrations, ensuring seamless integration with backend systems and enterprise architectures. This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills to maintain and scale existing architectures effectively. As part of the responsibilities, the candidate will manage a small team of 2 professionals, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment to deliver high-quality AI solutions. Experience with Microsoft Azure, MSSQL, and semantic kernel technologies is essential. Familiarity with agent frameworks such as LangChain or LangGraph is required to ensure efficient development and deployment of advanced AI solutions. Candidates with experience in B2B SaaS or productivity platforms, including project management, customer relationship management, or human resource management solutions, will find this role especially rewarding.
Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy AI and large language model-powered applications suitable for production use.
Build and optimize retrieval augmented generation (RAG) pipelines using vector databases such as pgvector, Pinecone, or Weaviate.
Architect and implement multi-agent AI systems integrating memory, planning, and tool functionalities.
Integrate AI solutions seamlessly with backend systems and enterprise architectures.
Develop and maintain scalable system architecture to support evolving AI solutions.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
Manage and mentor a small team of 2 individuals, providing guidance and support to meet project goals.
Apply strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to address challenges and enhance system performance.
Leverage hands-on experience with large language model APIs like OpenAI and Claude for application development.
Utilize agent frameworks such as LangChain and LangGraph to design robust AI workflows.
Employ Microsoft Azure and MSSQL technologies in the deployment and management of AI systems.
Engage in continuous learning to stay current with advancements in AI technologies and methodologies.
Support business goals by developing AI solutions aligned with B2B SaaS and productivity platforms if applicable.
