Tropical Software Solutions seeks a skilled Accountant to join its finance team and manage a team of five professionals. The ideal candidate possesses at least two years of experience and a bachelors degree in accounting or a related field. This role involves overseeing the company's financial reporting, ensuring compliance with regulations, and managing accounting processes using various software tools. The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing statements, and conducting thorough financial analysis aligned with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. The position requires strong knowledge of account reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, and expertise in software such as QuickBooks and SAP Financial Accounting.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of five accounting professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and timely financial operations.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP to support internal and external reporting requirements.
- Manage account reconciliation processes to verify financial data accuracy and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable activities to ensure proper recording, timely invoicing, and effective cash flow management.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improving financial performance and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations and maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal and regulatory accounting requirements.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP Financial Accounting (FI), and others to maintain accurate financial records and streamline accounting processes.
- Coordinate with auditors during financial audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure integrity of financial data.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities to assist management in financial planning and decision-making.
