Department: Sales & Marketing 

Reports to: Director  of Sales & Marketing/ General Manager 

  • Assigns major travel functions (i.e. trade shows, association) that deal specifically with his/her marketing area.
  • Promotes and produces sales leads for other group hotels.
  • Assists to formulate an Annual Marketing Plan and Budget.
  • Formulate week-to-week sales plan.
  • Sets up appropriate file systems of existing and potential accounts, keeping them up to date and properly categorized.
  • Plans sales trips, under the direct approval of Director of Sales & Marketing or General Manager, to major marketing areas, calling on accounts within their specific marketing area, Reports to Director of Sales & Marketing/GM on potential markets needing coverage.
  •  Provides feedback to the Director of Sales & Marketing/GM on changing marketing conditions, including trends in the competition, as a result of direct sales solicitation, telephone and direct mail, in his/her market areas. Arranges and accompanies clients on site inspection trips to hotels by major clients.
  • Works closely with the public relations representative to improve relations between the hotel and the community; to obtain maximum media coverage of activities within the hotel which are of interest locally.
  • Disseminates sales related information to other departments as appropriate.
  • Maintains a high level of exposure of the hotel in major market areas through direct sale solicitation; telephone contacts, and written communications.
  • Establish, maintain and use a library of reference materials, periodicals, texts and sales leads; stay abreast of market tends and hotel selling techniques.
  • Attends training session/programs relevant to Sales & Marketing.
  • Imparts training to his/her sales force and also coordinates with the training department for the purpose.
  • Responsible to achieve individual revenue targets for the hotel as set by the Director of sales.
  • Secure Sponsorship for the Hotel.
  • Establishes and maintains effective employee relations.
  • Performs related duties and special projects as assigned by Director Sales.
