Tobistudio is seeking a highly skilled Senior / Staff Software Engineer specializing in Backend and Cloud Architecture to join a dynamic team remotely. This position demands over 8 years of advanced software engineering experience, focusing on the design and development of scalable backend systems and cloud infrastructure architectures. The successful candidate plays a pivotal role in shaping production systems by making sound architectural decisions, ensuring system reliability, and optimizing performance across distributed environments. This role emphasizes technical ownership and leadership, requiring collaboration with multiple engineering teams and mentorship of peers. Leading a team of 15 engineers, the candidate will steer backend development processes, provide technical guidance, and uphold best practices in system design and infrastructure management. Competency in multiple programming languages such as Go, Python, C#/.NET, and TypeScript/Node.js, combined with proficiency in cloud services like AWS and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes, enables the engineer to build resilient microservices-based architectures. Experience with tools including Kafka, PostgreSQL, Docker, Terraform, REST/gRPC APIs, and CI/CD pipelines ensures the delivery of high-quality software solutions. The candidate's ability to troubleshoot complex issues, review designs and code comprehensively, and communicate effectively in English strengthens team success in a remote working setting.
Responsibilities

Design and architect scalable backend systems and cloud-based infrastructures to support high-availability production environments.
Lead and manage a software engineering team of 15 members, providing mentorship, guidance, and technical leadership to ensure project delivery and knowledge growth.
Make strategic architectural decisions that align with business goals, emphasizing distributed systems design, performance optimization, and reliability.
Develop, review, and maintain technical designs, codebases, and infrastructure automation following best practices and company standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex software and system issues in production environments proactively and efficiently.
Collaborate cross-functionally with various engineering teams to integrate backend services, ensure smooth operation, and optimize workflows.
Leverage expertise in cloud platforms, containerization, infrastructure as code, and continuous integration/delivery to streamline deployment processes.
Contribute to the improvement of existing systems by identifying bottlenecks and proposing scalable, maintainable solutions.
Communicate clearly and effectively with remote teams to coordinate development efforts, share knowledge, and encourage a collaborative culture.
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to incorporate innovative solutions and best practices into the architecture.
