The CAD Design Engineer (Solar) is a pivotal role focused on the development of solar and electrical systems for solar companies. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, creative design skills, and effective communication abilities. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in electrical engineering, preferably in solar energy, and a track record of producing detailed, precise solar and electrical designs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize CAD software to design and draft detailed solar photovoltaic systems.
- Develop full plan sets for solar and electrical designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards, local utility and project specifications.
- Generate comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOMs) for solar projects.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including design files, technical specifications, and project timelines.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure designs meet technical and client requirements.
- Effectively communicate design concepts and modifications in both verbal and written English.
- Ensure all designs adhere to applicable codes, standards, and best practices.
- Continuously update knowledge on the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a focus on solar energy or related fields.
- Proven experience in designing solar photovoltaic systems using CAD software.
- Familiarity with producing and interpreting Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Proficiency in English, with excellent communication skills both written and spoken.
