Responsibilities
- Responsible for the installation and maintenance of scientific equipment in the Mechatronics Engineering department’s labs.
- Provides technical support, including troubleshooting and repairing lab equipment that malfunctions or breaks down.
- Responsible for the maintenance of laboratory infrastructure, inventory, and storage devices.
- Conducts lab sessions as assigned by the department.
- Suggests new experiments that can add to students’ knowledge.
- Prepares lab manuals and updates them according to department and PEC recommendations.
- Participates with faculty members in projects and contributes technical knowledge for the betterment of projects.
- Ensures that labs are available for project use with proper tools and equipment.
- Manages and supports the proper functioning and development of relevant Mechatronics Engineering laboratories.
- Directs the preparation of lab experiments, coordinates the setup of required tools, and ensures proper calibration and functioning of equipment.
- Instructs and demonstrates proper laboratory safety techniques and the use and operation of lab equipment to students.
- Assists faculty and graduate students in research experiments and supports undergraduate students with course and final-year projects.
- Maintains and updates databases of equipment catalogs, manuals, data books, and experiment protocols.
- Takes initiatives to design new experiments or find inexpensive solutions.
- Actively participates in professional development activities such as conferences, workshops, and lectures as deemed appropriate by the HoD.
