Job Title:Associate Editor

Department:Journal of Independent Study and Research Management Sciences & Social Sciences (JISR-MSSE)

Qualification:Masters degree in Management Sciences or Social Sciences (18 years of education) or closely related field

Experience: Minimum 5years of overall professional experience, out of which at least 3years must be in a relevant editorial role within an academic journal at a reputable higher education institution or well-established organization

Responsibilities

Work closely with theEditorto ensure smooth and timely publication ofJournal of Independent Study and Research (JISR).
Manage and maintain theJISR office, ensuring effective coordination and communication among all stakeholders.
Proofread and edit submitted manuscripts/articles for language, style, structure, and overall academic quality.
Facilitate theblind peer-review processby coordinating with reviewers and the Editor.
Communicate with authors regarding reviewers comments, required revisions, and editorial decisions; assess whether reviewer concerns have been adequately addressed and perform final editorial checks prior to approval.
Liaise amongauthors, reviewers, the Editor, and the publisherthroughout all stages of publication process.
Determine publication sequence and priority for accepted manuscripts in coordination with the Editor and publisher.
Evaluate all submitted materials objectively, ensuring adherence to ethical standards and avoiding bias, conflicts of interest, or external influence in editorial decisions.
Preparequarterly progress and status reportsof the Journal for periodic review meetings, in coordination with the Editor.
Compile, maintain, and back up complete records of submissions, reviewer feedback, correspondence, and publication details.
Explore and recommendelectronic publishing platforms and innovative dissemination methodsto enhance academic visibility and engagement.
Proofread and edit other publishing content (e.g., advertisements, website content, and related materials) as and when required by SZABIST management
