Managing a team of three professionals, the System Engineer leads efforts for technology evaluation, emerging technology research, and system architecture documentation. This includes creating network diagrams, standard operating procedures, and operational manuals to support efficient system operations and maintenance. The role demands excellent troubleshooting skills and proficiency in version control systems such as Git to support deployment processes. The System Engineer is responsible for overseeing Microsoft IIS configuration and web application hosting, API and database integrations, and AI agent and chatbot development or integration, ensuring systems perform optimally and securely. This position demands a proactive approach to infrastructure security monitoring and disaster readiness, fostering continuous improvement in IT service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain Windows and Linux server environments ensuring high availability and security.
- Manage virtualization platforms to optimize resource utilization and support scalable application hosting.
- Configure and maintain Microsoft IIS servers to support web and application hosting needs.
- Integrate and support various enterprise communication and control systems including IoT controllers, RFID, GPS devices, access control, and CCTV systems.
- Develop, deploy, and maintain AI-driven agents and chatbots to enhance operational efficiency.
- Install, configure, and update software applications, ensuring adherence to quality assurance standards and system compatibility.
- Implement and monitor backup solutions and disaster recovery procedures to safeguard critical data and maintain business continuity.
- Create and maintain comprehensive system architecture documentation, network diagrams, and operational manuals including SOPs for consistent system management.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers to ensure timely procurement, support, and maintenance of hardware and software resources.
- Collaborate closely with developers, consultants, and business users to understand requirements and deliver tailored IT solutions.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions that align with organizational goals and improve system performance.
- Lead a team of three engineers, providing technical guidance, performance feedback, and fostering skill development within the team.
- Manage source code repositories and deployment processes using Git, ensuring version control best practices are followed.
- Monitor infrastructure and security systems continuously to detect, analyze, and resolve operational issues promptly.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex system problems across multiple platforms and technologies, minimizing downtime.
