The position is mainly responsible for ensuring the development of a MEAL Framework, timely MEAL reports against program/project deliverables, and swift feeding the learning back in to program/projects. 

Main Responsibilities

  • Prepare Organizational MEAL Framework in conjunction with SSU and Result Based Frameworks for different projects respectively
  • Prepare annual project-wise MEAL work plan in line with Program Annual Work Plan
  • Develop an internal reporting mechanism in line with the MEAL framework for timely and accurate reports
  • Update MIS to ensure project updates are populated within prescribed timelines
  • Responsible for continuous tracking of activities against timelines, agreed methodology, innovations, challenges vis-a-vis mitigation steps, quality assurance and MEAL analysis
  • Prepare and submit timely MEAL Status Reports for on-going projects with CE. The reports must conclude with areas for improvement and recommendations for each particular project
  • Review donor reports prior to submission to the donors
  • Provide guidance in developing research tools, with respect to baseline and end line surveys
  • Review Project Research Reports with Programme implementation lead and share review comments within agreed timelines
  • Provide substantive support to SSU lead in collating figures for infographics, organizational fact sheets and reports as and when required
  • Support effective decision-making and planning through program analyses, performance indicators, reports and recommendations
  • Supervise personnel (regional MEAL/MIS officers) based in regions for various projects
  • Conduct performance evaluation of relevant staff
  • Ensure effective monitoring, review and feeding learning of the project in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate external programme monitoring or audits
  • Prepare an overall impact and outcomes Monthly Report for the program
  • Conduct field visits where and when necessary and share field reports in 2 days after the visit.
  • Provide guidance to regions where necessary (in fieldwork, understanding on indicators etc.)
  • Provide support in developing different research and Development tools and review and analysis of the same
  • Ensure that learning is shared effectively between SPO partners, and across the SPO programmes
  • Responsible for knowledge management, including establishing efficient systems that strengthen collection and use of project information for decision-making.
  • Maintain SPOs MIS database and work with regional staff to ensure that information needs are met
  • Work closely with regional staff to develop and drive the data maintenance portfolio
  • Responsible for generating the required data from MIS database based on the requirements of the organization through active communication with the field staff in respective regional offices
  • Responsible for maintaining/updating SPOs existing MIS database
  • Manage the data collection processes and ensure quality entry into information system
  • Provide substantial input to MIS for the further improvement of the current management information system
  • Maintain database systems and procedures through regular checks of the system to ensure effectiveness, and take any necessary remedial actions to correct in case of shortcomings
  • Organize and conduct training on MIS for SPO staff
  • Carry out any other project-relevant activities as assigned by the supervisor 

Other Responsibilities:

  • Promote knowledge-sharing and learning culture in the organization
  • Coordinate and provide technical assistance for all relevant offices
  • Adhere to SPO policies and promote participatory culture and demonstrate SPO’s values
  • Lead programme planning and review meetings on a monthly, quarterly and Annual basis and as and when required
  • Participate in professional development training as identified and approved by the Supervisor
  • Carry out any other task as assigned by the supervisor
