Refresher - Capacity Building of CSOs and DCCN on effective policy dialogue

The primary objectives of the consultancy are as follows:

  1. Develop understanding of policy development cycle, analyze policy impact on women and children's nutrition.
  2. Enhance advocacy skills for effective communication with policymakers and communities, crafting compelling messages.
  3. Enable CSOs to conduct organizational assessments, develop strategies for policy dialogue, and establish collaboration mechanisms. 

Scope of Work:

 The training program aims to enhance the capacity of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in engaging in effective policy dialogue. The scope encompasses various aspects, including understanding policy processes, strengthening advocacy skills, fostering collaboration with government departments, and developing strategies tailored to individual CSOs and DCCN members. The program will facilitate a comprehensive learning experience to empower CSOs and DCCN in promoting meaningful dialogue, networking and alliance building at provincial and district level.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop clear outlines for topics, modules, and learning objectives, process, methodology in alignment with training objectives on established training manual on Effective Policy Dialogue
  • Prepare clear handouts covering key concepts, exercises, and additional resources for participants' reference during and after training.
  • Design engaging presentations, videos, e-learning modules, or simulations to enhance learning and information retention.
  • Develop quizzes, tests, or practical exercises to assess participants' understanding and measure training effectiveness in real-world contexts.
  • Implement assessment tools for participants both before and after training sessions.
  • Generate reports summarizing training effectiveness, achievements, areas for improvement, and recommendations for future endeavors.
  • Outline skills and knowledge acquired by participants to guide ongoing professional development and practical application.
  • Produce detailed reports for each training, including individual performance assessments and learning outcomes.

Key Deliverables:

  1. Submit 2 days refresher training agenda based on SPO training manual and clearly outlined topics, learning objectives aligned with following sessions on Effective policy dialogue
  2. Develop and submit pre and post assessment tools
  3. Deliver 2 days refresher in-person training(s) as per plan schedule and given timeline with all the above-mentioned curriculum/ manuals and learning materials
  4. Submit participants performance assessments (pre and post) learning outcomes report
  5. Training Action/Follow-up Plans to be prepared by the participants serving as a basis for ongoing professional development and practical application
  6. Develop and submit a comprehensive training report summarizing the effectiveness of the training, key achievements, areas for improvement, and recommendations
