SS Steel Work is seeking a skilled Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate has at least three years of hands-on experience in welding, with a strong focus on Shielded Metal Arc Welding techniques. As a Welder, you will play a vital role in fabricating and assembling metal structures according to precise specifications. You will work closely with a team of 20 skilled professionals, ensuring that all welding tasks meet quality and safety standards while adhering to project deadlines. This role involves operating welding equipment efficiently, interpreting blueprints and technical drawings, and inspecting completed welds to guarantee durability and compliance. Managing a team of 20 persons, you will also oversee the workflow, provide guidance, and ensure proper execution of welding assignments. You must maintain a commitment to workplace safety and quality control throughout all operations.
Responsibilities

  • Perform Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) on various metal components and structures to meet engineering and safety specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to plan and execute welding tasks accurately.
  • Inspect welds for quality and defects using visual and measurement tools; repair or rework welds as necessary.
  • Manage a team of 20 welding professionals, assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • Maintain welding equipment in proper working order, perform routine maintenance, and report or repair faults as needed.
  • Ensure all welding processes comply with safety regulations and company standards to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Collaborate with other departments such as fabrication, quality control, and project management to coordinate workflow.
  • Document work performed, including welding parameters, materials used, and inspection results for record-keeping and reporting.
  • Train and mentor team members on welding techniques, safety practices, and quality standards to improve team performance.
  • Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to welding procedures and processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
