Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Animal Welfare: Develop, improve and implement necessary Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs) (nutrition, medicine, vaccination, health, reproduction, biosecurity, newborn calves, fresh calvers, dry cows, close-up cows, goats, etc.) on the Farm.
  • Breeding Programs: Ensure focus on reproduction of cows. Develop and implement protocols for healthy raising of calves. Develop and implement breeding programs to enhance the genetic traits of dairy cattle, such as milk yield, reproductive performance, and disease resistance. Work on selective breeding to improve the overall quality of dairy herds.
  • Nutrition Management: Plan and maintain feed supplies (including silage, forages, and concentrate ingredients) and ensure healthy feeding of cows. Formulate and evaluate dietary plans for dairy cattle to optimize their health, milk production, and reproductive performance. Research and recommend nutritional supplements to enhance the well-being of dairy animals.
  • Disease Prevention and Management: Research and implement strategies for preventing and managing diseases affecting dairy cattle. Advise farmers on vaccination protocols, disease monitoring, and treatment options.
  • Milk Quality Assurance: Develop and implement feed plan for optimum milk production.
  • Record Tracking: Maintain herd records on paper and on Google Sheets.Keep up to date with new farm technology, and ways to make the dairy farm more environmentally sustainable.
  • Research and Experimentation: Conduct research studies to investigate various aspects of dairy production, including genetics, nutrition, and reproduction. Design and execute experiments to improve the efficiency and sustainability of dairy farming practices.
  • Suppliers Management: Interact with consultants, farm suppliers and other service providers Improve the efficiency, data collection, and decision-making on dairy farms.

Note: Look after 30-40 Cows + Calfs/Heifers

Qualification: DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, DVM, B.Sc. (A.H), BVSc. B.Sc. (A.H.) or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.

Salary Package: Rs. Salary range in between 30,000 to 40,000 rupee along with Accommodation + Food
