The role involves managing end-to-end Non-Telco and Telco activities within the assigned geographical grid(s). The incumbent will ensure network availability, oversee network operations within the allocated OPEX budget, and manage all related maintenance and operational issues. Leading field teams to resolve problems promptly and improving key performance indicators (KPIs) are essential components of this position. The focus is on maintaining high network performance, optimizing operational expenses, and driving continuous improvement to meet commercial and regional targets.
Key Responsibilities
Network Availability: Drive and monitor grid performance by overseeing activities carried out by field teams. Ensure compliance with network KPIs by coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance of Access Networks and Gen-sets. This is critical to meet commercial expectations and support revenue growth.
OPEX Management: Manage the grid’s operations within the allocated OPEX budget. Take proactive measures to optimize expenses, including costs related to electricity and diesel generator fuel consumption.
Team Management: Supervise and support resources such as cluster owners, riggers, and fueling teams. Focus on developing their skills and competencies. Collaborate with regional FOPS managers and team group leaders (TGLs) to allocate targets and KPIs monthly, and evaluate team performance on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
AC/DC/CP & DG Infrastructure: Possess a strong understanding of power infrastructure. Lead the field leadership management (FLM) team to resolve operational issues related to power systems, including DC and DG, ensuring smooth operations.
Operational Tools Management: Utilize tools such as RMS, EASS, NETECO, and other elementary systems to identify operational gaps and close issues affecting network performance.
MS Management & Leadership: Effectively handle and guide the MS team to ensure timely resolution of operational matters. Drive improvements in KPIs through efficient management and leadership.
Performance Improvement & KPI Achievement: Operate efficiently with limited resources to meet basic KPIs and contribute to achieving the regional RCTO targets. Implement strategies to improve overall performance.
Collaboration with Partners: Maintain close coordination with Operations Management Officers (OMOs) and B2S partners to optimize operations and achieve the best possible TCHA (Total Customer Handling Ability) levels.
Data Analysis & Special Tasks: Act as a self-driven leader to analyze operational data and implement special tasks that support the achievement of regional KPI targets.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in managing network operations within a telecommunications or related infrastructure environment.
- Strong knowledge of power infrastructure including AC/DC systems, control panels, and diesel generators.
- Experience in budget management, particularly OPEX optimization.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop field teams, including performance evaluation and target setting.
- Proficiency in using operational tools such as RMS, EASS, and NETECO for issue identification and resolution.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and implement improvement strategies.
- Excellent coordination and communication skills to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
