The ideal candidate must have a solid understanding of software development life cycles and possess strong expertise in system administration and network configuration. Expertise in troubleshooting and IT security practices is essential for ensuring the integrity and availability of computing resources. Additionally, the role requires the management of databases along with knowledge of Windows Server environments and network security protocols. Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools will be advantageous for monitoring and responding to cybersecurity threats. The position demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement in technology service delivery within the university setting.
Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications tailored to the university's operational and academic requirements.
Perform regular system administration duties, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems, servers, and network devices.
Manage and administer databases to ensure their availability, performance, and security.
Configure and troubleshoot network systems to optimize performance and ensure secure communication.
Implement and enforce IT security policies and best practices to protect university information assets from unauthorized access and vulnerabilities.
Monitor network security using Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, analyze security alerts, and respond to incidents promptly.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
Collaborate with other IT personnel and university departments to identify and implement technology solutions that improve operational efficiency.
Document system configurations, processes, and procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and continuity in IT operations.
Ensure compliance with university IT governance policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
Support software development life cycle activities through requirement analysis, coding, testing, and deployment.
Stay updated on emerging IT trends, tools, and best practices and recommend improvements to existing infrastructures and applications.
Perform periodic backups and recovery operations to safeguard critical data and systems.
Participate in the evaluation and procurement of IT hardware and software resources.
