The Lab Assistant performs essential technical support tasks including regular maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory and computing equipment, managing data entry and storage, and executing software updates to maintain system security and functionality. The position demands accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to follow standardized procedures while responding quickly to technical issues. Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and repair of laboratory and computing equipment to ensure all instruments operate accurately and reliably.
Troubleshoot hardware issues related to computer systems, peripherals, and network configurations to minimize downtime and improve user experience.
Install, update, and configure software applications essential for laboratory activities, ensuring compatibility and compliance with university standards.
Manage data entry and maintain accurate records of laboratory equipment usage, maintenance logs, and inventory to support operational efficiency.
Assist in configuring and maintaining computer networks within the laboratory environment to support seamless connectivity and data transfer.
Coordinate with faculty members and technical staff to prepare the laboratory for practical demonstrations, experiments, and workshops.
Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and standard operating procedures for equipment handling and laboratory usage.
Support training and guidance for students and staff on the proper use of laboratory and computing equipment.
Monitor equipment performance regularly and report significant issues to the technical supervisor for timely resolution.
Maintain an organized and clean laboratory environment to promote safety and ease of access to computing resources.
