Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University seeks a dedicated and experienced Assistant Director to lead the Department of Health Professions Education. The successful candidate will manage a team of five professionals to design, implement, and enhance educational programs tailored to health professions. This leadership role requires expertise in curriculum development, faculty development, and accreditation compliance to ensure programs meet rigorous academic and professional standards. The Assistant Director will play a pivotal role in fostering interprofessional education and collaborative practice frameworks that prepare healthcare learners for integrated practice environments. In this role, the Assistant Director directs instructional design and eLearning development initiatives using learning management systems. The position demands continuous assessment and evaluation of educational effectiveness through data analysis and reporting. With at least five years of relevant experience, the candidate will drive innovation and quality improvement in health professions education, facilitating faculty development and ensuring adherence to accreditation standards. The Assistant Director collaborates with stakeholders to create inclusive, evidence-based educational experiences that advance health professions training at the university.
Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of five education professionals to accomplish departmental goals effectively.
  • Develop, review, and update curricula that meet current health professions education standards and industry needs.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation requirements and maintain documentation for review bodies.
  • Design and implement faculty development programs to enhance teaching skills and educational methodologies.
  • Coordinate instructional design and eLearning initiatives incorporating innovative technologies and learning management systems.
  • Develop interprofessional education programs that promote collaborative practice and integrated healthcare training.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessment and evaluation of educational programs, using data analysis to inform improvements.
  • Prepare detailed reports on program outcomes, accreditation status, and department activities for senior administration.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to foster partnerships that enhance educational offerings and resources.
  • Monitor emerging trends and best practices in health professions education to recommend continuous program enhancement.
  • Supervise the implementation of assessment strategies that measure learner progress and program effectiveness.
  • Manage resources effectively to support program goals, including budgeting and allocation of materials and technology.
  • Promote a culture of continuous quality improvement and innovation within the department.
  • Support interdepartmental initiatives that align with the universitys mission to advance health professions education.
  • Facilitate workshops, seminars, and training sessions to build faculty and staff capacity in educational best practices.
