Textile Designer

Shekhani Industries is seeking a talented and creative Textile Designer to join our dynamic design team. The ideal candidate possesses extensive knowledge of fabrics, textile printing techniques, and dyeing and finishing processes, and demonstrates a strong command of design software such as Adobe Illustrator and CAD for textile design. A minimum of five years of experience is required, preferably with prior roles at retail brands or design houses. This role involves interpreting market research, analyzing consumer behavior, and identifying trends to develop innovative textile patterns and prints that meet market demands. Candidates should hold a degree in design from IVS or a comparable institution. This position requires a designer with a keen eye for detail and the ability to create fabric designs that are both aesthetically appealing and commercially feasible. The Textile Designer collaborates closely with product development teams to ensure alignment between design concepts and production capabilities. While this role does not involve managing a team, strong communication and project coordination skills are essential to successfully contribute to Shekhani Industries' creative vision and product excellence.
Responsibilities

Develop original fabric designs, patterns, and prints that align with current and forecasted market trends.
Utilize software tools such as Adobe Illustrator and CAD applications to produce detailed textile designs and pattern drafts.
Apply expertise in fabric construction, textile dyeing, and finishing processes to ensure designs are practical for manufacturing.
Conduct comprehensive market research and analyze consumer behavior to create textiles that respond to customer preferences.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product development and merchandising to translate design concepts into finished products.
Stay updated on industry innovations, textile materials, and printing techniques to maintain cutting-edge design offerings.
Prepare and present design concepts and mood boards for client and internal review.
Ensure quality control throughout the design and sampling stages to maintain high standards of production.
Assist in selecting appropriate fabrics and materials for design projects based on their technical properties and esthetic requirements.
Support the production team by providing detailed specifications and guidance to ensure designs are executed accurately.
Maintain organized records of designs, technical details, and material sources for reference and future use.
