The Civil Engineer is responsible for implementing construction activities on site to meet project requirements while adhering to health, safety, and environmental standards. This role includes preparing and checking bill of quantities (BOQ), estimating materials, monitoring site progress, and conducting quality inspections to ensure compliance with specifications. The candidate takes an active role in identifying and resolving technical issues on-site and preparing detailed daily and weekly progress reports. By leveraging solid technical expertise and strong organizational abilities, the Civil Engineer contributes significantly to project success by optimizing construction workflows and fostering effective stakeholder communication. The position demands a proactive approach to site supervision and coordination, ensuring the delivery of high-quality construction work on schedule and within budget constraints.
Responsibilities

  • Supervise and monitor construction activities at site to ensure adherence to design drawings, technical specifications, and quality standards.
  • Prepare, check, and verify bill of quantities (BOQs), material measurements, and quantity estimations accurately.
  • Coordinate daily with contractors, consultants, and project management teams to streamline project execution and resolve site issues promptly.
  • Maintain comprehensive records and prepare daily and weekly progress reports outlining work status and challenges.
  • Inspect ongoing work to enforce quality control procedures and compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Apply knowledge of construction methods and materials to troubleshoot technical challenges and optimize site operations.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Civil 3D tools to review and interpret structural drawings and generate civil engineering designs as needed.
  • Manage project timelines by tracking milestones and delivering work within scheduled deadlines.
  • Conduct site supervision to ensure workforce adherence to project plans and health and safety rules.
  • Engage in continuous communication and collaboration with internal teams and external partners to facilitate smooth project delivery.
  • Stay updated with the latest engineering techniques, tools, and construction regulations to improve job performance and safety compliance.
  • Assist in quantity takeoff and cost estimation to support budgeting and procurement processes.
  • Participate in site inspections to verify that materials and workmanship meet specified standards.
  • Document and report site incidents, safety hazards, and preventive measures effectively.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and readiness to work at different project locations and travel as required for project assignments.
