Senior Staff Engineer (AI)

We are looking for a talented builder-architect to join our Hyderabad team and contribute to the development of a shared Agentic AI Platform. This platform enables enterprise teams to design, deploy, and operate AI-powered agents and workflows safely and at scale. The ideal candidate will combine strong software and systems expertise with hands-on engineering skills and the ability to guide architectural direction across multiple teams. This individual contributor role focuses on building core platform capabilities that emphasize reuse, cohesion, and long-term sustainability. The position reports to the Director of Engineering and operates in a hybrid work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop foundational platform capabilities for agentic AI systems, including orchestration, lifecycle management, memory patterns, runtime policy, and human-in-the-loop controls. Establish mechanisms for agent discovery, registration, and reuse through registries, marketplaces, and protocol integrations as shared platform services. Define and evolve durable architectural patterns, reference architectures, and golden paths to support multi-agent coordination, bounded autonomy, failure handling, and system evolution. Create secure-by-default architectures embedding governance, policy enforcement, auditability, and access control within agentic systems and AI workflows. Build reusable AI workflow primitives to ensure consistent adoption across enterprise teams. Collaborate with enterprise groups such as Cloud, Security, and ITSM to integrate AI workflows into existing systems and platforms. Maintain a comprehensive view of Agentic AI and AI Workflow initiatives enterprise-wide, identifying opportunities to reduce fragmentation and promote convergence. Mentor engineers and influence technical direction through hands-on contributions, design leadership, and clear communication.

Required Qualifications

A minimum of 8 years’ experience designing, building, and operating cloud-native software systems in production, with deep expertise in platform, infrastructure, or distributed systems. Proven ability to balance tradeoffs across scalability, reliability, security, cost, and developer experience. Experience designing or operating systems that incorporate large language models (LLMs) or AI models as core components, managing model interaction, control flow, and failure modes. Proficiency in Python and/or Java or Scala for backend service, framework, or SDK development. Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms, preferably AWS, including compute, networking, storage, and security primitives. Demonstrated ownership and evolution of shared platform architectures over time, managing boundaries, tradeoffs, and adapting designs to scale and changing requirements. Strong track record of driving architectural alignment across teams through influence, design reviews, reference architectures, and collaboration without formal authority. Exposure to agent frameworks, multi-agent systems, or AI orchestration tools. Experience designing systems with explicit state management, lifecycle control, and correctness guarantees for asynchronous and long-running workflows. Familiarity with orchestration systems, workflow engines, or event-driven architectures. Knowledge of authentication, authorization, and delegated access patterns, including OAuth 2.0, applied to service-to-service and user-mediated workflows. Experience building internal developer platforms, shared services, or reusable runtime frameworks. Commitment to staying hands-on with emerging AI capabilities and tools to inform system and platform design decisions.
