Position Summary:

The sweeper is responsible for ensuring cleanliness, sanitation, and orderliness in the assigned areas. This role involves sweeping, mopping, dusting, and performing other cleaning duties to maintain a hygienic environment.

Sweeping and Mopping:

  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors to remove dust, dirt, and debris.
  • Clean and disinfect surfaces, including hallways, packing room, cutting room, and other common areas of Kitchen.

Trash Management:

  • Empty trash bins and replace liners.
  • Dispose of trash and recyclables in designated disposal areas.

Dusting and Cleaning:

  • Dust and wipe down furniture, fixtures, and surfaces.
  • Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.

Restroom Maintenance:

  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and floors.
  • Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.

Special Cleaning Tasks:

  • Perform deep cleaning tasks as needed, such as carpet shampooing, floor waxing, and window washing.
  • Respond to emergency cleaning requests promptly.

Maintenance and Reporting:

  • Inspect cleaning equipment and report any maintenance or repair needs.
  • Notify management of any safety hazards or needed repairs in the cleaning area.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Use cleaning chemicals and supplies according to safety instructions and guidelines.

Competencies:

  • Respect and promote SIF values and mandate, and report to the line manager any non-respect of SIF’s policies amongst the teams or partners.
  • Address needs and requests in a professional way.
  • Always interact with children in the presence of their parents or caregivers.
  • Always respect beneficiaries’ confidentiality.
  • Report any incident or act that causes harm to beneficiaries or to others.
  • Aware of child protection/safeguarding concepts.
  • To establish and maintain effective working relations with people of different cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Rigorous and polite.
