SIF is currently seeking Supporting cooks in Quetta. The Supporting Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking as per the shared weekly menu, following all safety and sanitation procedures. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.

General Objectives:

Objective 1: Food Preparation:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to recipes and menu specifications.
  • Chop, slice, and dice ingredients to ensure timely preparation.
  • Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience.
  • Must have experience in cooking food for School Children

Objective 2: Menu Planning:

  • Assist in planning and developing menus, including daily specials.
  • Suggest new dishes based on seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.

Objective 3: Kitchen Management:

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly cleaned and maintained.
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders for ingredients and supplies as needed.
  • Oversee the storage of ingredients and supplies, ensuring they are properly labeled and stored.

Objective 4: Quality Control:

  • Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented according to the restaurant’s standards.
  • Monitor food quality and consistency.
  • Conduct taste tests to ensure the best flavors and presentation.

Objective 5: Safety and Sanitation:

  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of food and ingredients.

Objective 6: Team Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient operation.
  • Provide guidance and training to junior kitchen staff as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with waitstaff and management regarding cleaning, cooking, cutting, packing and transportation.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Effective under pressure, results oriented and proactive with the ability to multi-task.
  • Good Interpersonal communication, negotiating and analytical skills.
  • Ability to organize work schedule on regular basis and flexibility; discrete and respectful to confidentiality.
  • Good Team player and motivated to work in remote and uncertain environment respecting standard operating procedures as devised and instructed.

 Working Hours and Salary

  • This is a full-time position with 40 working hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demands.
  • Salary will be paid according to the SIF salary grid.
