General Objectives

Objective 1: Menu Planning and Development:

  • Develop and design new menu items, taking into account seasonal ingredients, customer preferences, and food trends.
  • Assist in Planning and create daily or weekly menus.
  • Ensure that all dishes are prepared with attention to taste, presentation, and quality.

Objective 2: Food Preparation and Cooking:

  • Supervise in preparing, cutting and cooking of food as per the menu keeping in mind the hygiene protocols.
  • Ensure that all dishes are prepared according to recipe specifications and presented in an attractive manner.
  • Monitor food preparation and cooking processes to maintain consistent quality.

Objective 3: Kitchen Management:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, including staff supervision, scheduling, and training.
  • Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering ingredients and supplies, and ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Ensure that all kitchen equipment is maintained and used properly

Objective 4: Food Safety and Hygiene:

  • Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
  • Monitor kitchen cleanliness and ensure that all staff follow proper sanitation practices.
  • Keep up-to-date with health and safety regulations and implement necessary changes.

Objective 5: Staff Supervision and Training:

  • Lead, motivate, and manage kitchen staff to ensure high performance and teamwork.
  • Provide training and guidance to new and existing staff on cooking techniques, kitchen procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Conduct performance reviews of kitchen staff and address any issues or conflicts within the team.

Objective 6: Cost Management:

  • Develop and manage the kitchen budget, including food costs, labor costs, and other expenses.
  • Implement cost-control measures to maintain profitability without sacrificing quality.
  • Monitor and manage food waste and find ways to reduce it.

Objective 7: Collaboration:

  • Work closely with Kitchen management, front-of-house staff, and other departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Assist in Collaborating with suppliers to source high-quality ingredients and manage inventory.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Effective under pressure, results oriented and proactive with the ability to multi-task.
  • Good Interpersonal communication, negotiating and analytical skills.
  • Ability to organize work schedule on regular basis and flexibility; discrete and respectful to confidentiality.
  • Good Team player and motivated to work in remote and uncertain environment respecting standard operating procedures as devised and instructed.

 Working Hours and Salary

  • This is a full-time position with 40 working hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
  • Salary will be paid according to the SIF salary grid.
