Ryelogic is seeking a dedicated Networking Associate Engineer to join our team on a part-time basis. This role requires a professional with at least two years of experience in network configuration and management. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of TCP/IP protocols, wireless networking technologies, and network security practices. The Networking Associate Engineer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security. This position does not include team management responsibilities but requires close collaboration with other technical staff to support organizational networking needs.
As a Networking Associate Engineer, you will play a critical role in managing wireless network security and configurations, including working with security standards such as WPA, WPA2, and WPA3. You will utilize network security monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve vulnerabilities and performance issues. This role demands a commitment to staying current with evolving networking technologies and best practices to maintain a secure and efficient network environment for Ryelogic.
Responsibilities
- Configure and maintain network devices, including switches, routers, and wireless access points, to ensure reliable network connectivity.
- Utilize knowledge of TCP/IP protocols to troubleshoot and resolve network performance issues promptly.
- Implement and manage wireless networking setups, ensuring compliance with security standards like WPA, WPA2, and WPA3.
- Use network configuration management tools to document and control changes within the network infrastructure.
- Monitor network security using dedicated tools to detect and mitigate potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to support the integration and maintenance of network services.
- Perform regular network performance analysis and recommend improvements to optimize bandwidth and reduce latency.
- Assist in the development of network documentation and procedures to support operational efficiency.
- Stay informed about industry trends, networking technologies, and security threats to proactively apply upgrades or patches.
- Participate in troubleshooting efforts for network outages or disruptions to minimize downtime.
