Riphah International University is seeking a dedicated Lab Assistant - English to support the Department of English Linguistics and Literature. This position involves multitasking across a range of design and technical responsibilities to enhance the department's educational environment. The Lab Assistant will design promotional and instructional materials such as banners, standees, flyers, ebooks, and social media posts. Additionally, the role requires video editing and maintaining departmental websites to support academic events and installations. The Lab Assistant also aids in installing specialized software related to linguistics studies and data analysis. Flexibility to handle any other tasks assigned by the department is a vital component of this role, emphasizing a proactive approach to supporting the universitys academic mission.
Responsibilities
- Design visually appealing banners, standees, flyers, ebooks, and social media posts using tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Canva.
- Edit videos effectively through Adobe Premiere Pro to support academic and promotional activities.
- Develop and maintain websites for various events organized by the Department of English Linguistics and Literature.
- Install and configure linguistics-related software required for data analysis and research purposes.
- Provide technical support and ensure proper functioning of lab equipment and software during weekend sessions for MPhil and PhD classes.
- Facilitate smooth lab operations by assisting teachers and students in using lab resources efficiently.
- Collaborate with faculty members to address technical or creative needs related to linguistics studies and research projects.
- Manage multiple tasks in a timely manner while prioritizing workload to meet deadlines.
- Perform any other relevant tasks assigned by the Department of English Linguistics and Literature to support overall department objectives.
