Riphah International University invites qualified candidates to join its academic faculty as an Anesthesia Technology Lecturer. The ideal candidate will hold a BS, MS, or MPhil degree in Anesthesia Technology, Anesthesiology (Allied Health), or a closely related discipline, acquired from an HEC-recognized university. This role is designed for individuals with up to three years of professional experience, including fresh graduates, who demonstrate strong teaching abilities and clinical competence. The lecturer will be responsible for delivering theoretical knowledge and practical training to undergraduate and postgraduate students, equipping them with the necessary skills to excel in anesthesia technology and related healthcare fields. Valid registration with the relevant professional council or authority is required, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations. As an educator, the selected individual will engage extensively in curriculum development, simulation-based training, and the integration of health and safety regulations into academic programming. The role emphasizes hands-on experience with anesthesia equipment operation, patient monitoring systems, ventilator management, anesthesia information management systems, and electronic health records. Experience in clinical practice settings such as operating theaters, intensive care units, and pain management procedures will be valuable. Effective communication and research skills are essential to foster academic excellence and contribute to clinical research methodologies. The lecturer will maintain a robust understanding of pharmacology related to anesthesia and the operation of various physiological monitoring tools to facilitate comprehensive student learning without the responsibility of managing a team.
Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures and practical sessions focused on anesthesia technology, ensuring clarity and engagement to facilitate student learning.
- Develop, update, and implement curriculum content that incorporates the latest advances in anesthesia equipment operation, clinical anesthesia practice, and patient safety protocols.
- Provide hands-on training in operating anesthesia machines, ventilators, physiological monitoring equipment, and anesthesia information management systems.
- Guide students in understanding and applying pharmacology principles related to anesthesia management and patient care.
- Utilize simulation-based training techniques to prepare students for real-life clinical scenarios and decision-making processes.
- Monitor student progress through assessments and provide constructive feedback to promote academic growth.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the learning environment and clinical practice simulations.
- Facilitate the use of electronic health records for accurate documentation and information management in anesthesia care.
- Engage in research activities related to anesthesia technology to contribute to knowledge advancement and evidence-based teaching practices.
- Collaborate with academic peers to improve teaching methodologies and support curriculum enhancement initiatives.
- Participate in academic administration activities, including attendance at departmental meetings and contribution to quality assurance processes.
- Promote effective communication and professional development among students, guiding them toward ethical and competent anesthesia technology practice.
- Assist in risk assessment and utilize incident reporting software as part of student training and safety management.
- Incorporate clinical research methodologies and tools such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis to enhance learning outcomes and patient safety awareness.
