We are  looking for a dynamic and experienced leader for our Urban Impact Lab (UIL) research team. The UIL team is responsible for designing and implementing innovative programs in the areas of public health, women’s empowerment, and livelihood development. We conduct various research projects at our sentinel surveillance site in Rawalpindi, where we monitor and evaluate the impact of our interventions. We aim to scale up the most successful interventions to other districts of Pakistan. The ideal candidate should have strong statistical and econometrics background, research experience, and leadership skills. They will lead and manage our team of analysts in conducting research, analysis, and program development in these domains.

Responsibilities

Team and Stakeholder Management

  • Lead, manage, and supervise a team of analysts to ensure the successful execution of research analysis and projects. This requires high understanding of statistical and econometric models.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
  • Maintain effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Present research findings and program updates to various audiences, including donors, partners, and senior management.

 Program Design, Research, Data Visualization and Knowledge Dissemination

  • Supervise and use statistical and econometrics models for better quality knowledge products for evidence-based policy making.
  • Participate in the design and development of programs in the fields of public health, women's empowerment, and livelihood development among others. 
  • Contribute to the strategic planning process by providing insights and recommendations based on research and analysis.
  • Oversee field data collection, including the creation of field plans, monitoring field staff, questionnaire development, and ensuring data quality, data cleaning and analysis.
  • Supervise the implementation of interactive dashboards to effectively communicate research findings and program impact.
  • Good understanding about Utilizing tools such as Power BI
  •  Write research papers for publication in international journals, showcasing the results of our research efforts.
  • Prepare reports for different programs and initiatives, sharing insights and recommendations with stakeholders.

Grant Proposal Development

  • Write grant proposals to secure funding for research projects and program initiatives.
  •  Collaborate with the fundraising team to identify and pursue funding opportunities. Make detailed budgets for different proposals for both national and international donors.

Education & Qualification:

  • At least a master’s degree preferably in economics, public health, or a related field.

Experience& Skills: Minimum of 6-10 years of experience in research-related activities and at least 3 years of experience in team management.

  • Experience in the field of public health is preferred
  • Should have experience of making program budgets for both local and international donors.
  • Excellent proficiency in STATA software for statistical analysis.
  • Should have experience using Survey CTO software.
  • A minimum of 2 publications in international journals preferably in the field of public health.
