Junior Restaurant Accountant

The Junior Restaurant Accountant at Recruit AI is tasked with overseeing the daily financial transactions and accounting activities of a restaurant branch. The role is designed for candidates with 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in restaurant, hotel, or retail settings. The Junior Restaurant Accountant will contribute to cost control, effective petty cash management, and compliance with company policies through diligent documentation and reporting practices. Responsibilities also include supporting the monthly closing process and bank transactions. While this role does not involve managing a team, it demands strong communication skills, integrity, and the capacity to work efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines.
Responsibilities

Enter all daily financial transactions accurately into the system.
Perform daily sales reconciliation by comparing point-of-sale records with cash, card, and online receipt data.
Verify and validate daily revenue reports and ensure correct deposit records.
Monitor and control petty cash transactions to prevent discrepancies.
Record and verify all operational expenses related to the restaurant branch.
Maintain organized documentation of invoices, vouchers, and financial paperwork.
Coordinate with the store department to obtain accurate stock consumption reports.
Assist in conducting monthly inventory counts and contribute to precise stock valuation.
Monitor food cost percentages regularly and report any significant variances.
Prepare detailed weekly and monthly branch expense summaries and financial reports.
Ensure strict compliance with company financial policies and audit requirements.
Support the Senior Accountant during the monthly financial closing processes.
Manage bank transactions, including fund transfers and making salary disbursements.
Oversee daily cash flow management to maintain healthy financial operations.
Maintain accuracy in sales reconciliation with zero unexplained cash shortages or overages.
Submit branch financial reports promptly and ensure all documentation is audit-ready.
