The Business Development Assistant will work closely with teams across Karavan to develop and maintain a robust sales funnel while promoting the transformative health services offered. Candidates should be comfortable working in a startup environment with a strong interest in health, wellness, and behavior change. Responsibilities include following up on leads from multiple sources, managing CRM data, preparing proposals, and refining sales materials. While no team management is required, the role demands strong judgment, clarity in communication, and the ability to convert prospects through consultative selling techniques. Previous experience in B2B sales, corporate wellness, or client acquisition within health or education sectors is highly valued.
Responsibilities

  • Follow up promptly with leads generated from events, referrals, studio visits, website inquiries, social media, and outreach to convert them into consultations or memberships.
  • Engage with retail clients to understand their wellness goals and recommend appropriate services including assessments, trials, and studio visits.
  • Identify and initiate contact with companies, schools, workplaces, residential groups, institutions, and community organizations to establish new corporate wellness partnerships.
  • Book and conduct sales calls, consultations, and discovery meetings aimed at converting leads into paid programs.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle for corporate and institutional clients, including qualifying leads, conducting meetings, drafting proposals, negotiating terms, and closing deals.
  • Maintain and update a structured CRM or lead tracking system to monitor lead sources, follow-up activities, next steps, outcomes, and opportunities lost.
  • Prepare clear and persuasive draft proposals tailored to corporate and institutional client needs.
  • Develop and continuously improve sales scripts, frequently asked questions, pitch notes, and objection handling strategies for effective communication.
  • Collaborate with Karavans outreach, operations, service delivery, research, and studio teams to align sales efforts with program delivery and client experience.
  • Provide weekly updates on the sales pipeline and submit detailed monthly sales reports to management.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and demonstrate perseverance in dealing with rejection while effectively conveying the benefits of Karavans wellness programs.
  • Support retail sales activities by converting warm leads and assisting potential members through their decision-making process.
  • Build and maintain a database of corporate and institutional contacts, decision-makers, and key stakeholders to support ongoing sales activities.
