QA Automation Engineer

We are looking for a committed Quality Assurance (QA) professional to take full ownership of quality across multiple projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing thorough testing strategies for various services and applications, ensuring comprehensive coverage through a solid understanding of system architecture and data flows. This role requires close collaboration with development teams to uphold high standards of software quality and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

- Take complete quality ownership of assigned projects, ensuring delivery of defect-free software.
- Plan, design, and execute testing activities across multiple services and applications within the codebase.
- Develop and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test suites for both new and existing features.
- Conduct various testing types including functional, regression, integration, API, and data-validation testing.
- Identify, reproduce, and document defects with clear reproduction steps, logs, and impact assessments.
- Contribute to or maintain automated test suites for APIs, backend, and UI components where applicable.
- Work closely with developers to integrate automated tests into continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Proactively suggest tools and best practices to improve test efficiency and reliability.
- Produce clear technical documentation outlining testing strategies, quality processes, and release criteria.
- Create and update workflow diagrams and process flows for data pipelines, integrations, and user flows.
- Document test environments, data requirements, edge cases, and known limitations comprehensively.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Actively participate in planning, grooming, and review meetings, raising quality risks early along with practical mitigation strategies.
- Advocate for QA best practices and promote a culture of quality throughout the organization.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on QA experience in software projects, preferably involving backend services, APIs, and data-processing workloads.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate issues, risks, and trade-offs effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to produce high-quality technical documentation such as test plans, test cases, runbooks, QA guidelines, and release notes.
- Strong skills in modeling and creating workflow/process diagrams using tools like Lucidchart, Miro, Draw.io, or similar.
- Solid understanding of software testing methodologies including functional, regression, integration, system, user acceptance testing (UAT), and smoke/sanity testing.

Compensation and Work Location

The monthly salary range for this position is Rs 32,561.82 to Rs 191,511.60. This role requires working on-site.
