• Trains and supervises child care staff, student assistants, and volunteers; evaluates performance; makes work assignments; monitors staff’s interaction with children; trains staff in emergency care procedures; schedules staff to meet program and licensing requirements; arranges for substitutes; resolves parent complaints regarding staff performance; maintains attendance, meal, and activities records; assists with food preparation, service, and cleanup; orders equipment and supplies; monitors and reports facility maintenance and repair needs.
  • Plans and develops developmentally appropriate activities to teach art, music, colors, shapes, numbers, letters, and motor skills; develops activities for the daycare portion of the program to include campus and community field trips; arranges for community/campus volunteers to teach classes such as gymnastics; communicates with parents orally and in writing concerning needs, progress, problems, and behavior of children; designs bulletin board and other displays.
  • Implements activity plans and monitors, observes and interacts with children; cares for the physical needs of children including feeding, diapering toileting, dressing, and administering medication.
