Field Technician FTTH/Gpon

PrimeNet seeks a skilled Field Technician specializing in FTTH (Fiber To The Home) and Gpon networks. This role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting fiber optic networks at customer locations to ensure optimal performance and connectivity. The ideal candidate possesses practical experience in fiber optic splicing, GPON network installation, and signal testing, enabling the delivery of high-quality telecommunication services. This position requires at least one year of relevant field experience and a basic educational background, focusing on hands-on technical proficiency in fiber optic technologies and customer premises equipment setup. The technician will work independently on-site, ensuring adherence to safety standards and company protocols without managing a team.
Responsibilities
Install and configure fiber optic cables using FTTH and GPON technologies at customer premises to establish reliable network connections. Perform fiber optic cable splicing and termination with precision to maintain signal integrity and reduce transmission losses. Conduct comprehensive signal testing and measurement using optical power meters and other diagnostic tools to verify network performance and troubleshoot issues promptly. Set up and configure Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) to ensure compatibility and functionality with the installed fiber network. Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities, reporting findings and status updates to supervisors for seamless project tracking.

Follow safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and damage to equipment during installation and maintenance tasks. Collaborate with other technical teams and supervisors to optimize network infrastructure and resolve complex technical challenges. Educate customers on basic operation and maintenance of fiber optic systems to enhance user experience. Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices in fiber optic communications to improve technical skills and service quality.
