- Serving as a Team Lead for overall Taxation matters of the Group and associated entities directly reporting to the CFO.
- Accurately preparing and filing federal and provincial tax returns in a timely manner.
- Reviewing tax returns.
- Supervising members of the tax team to ensure that tax returns are completed correctly.
- Responsible for maintaining relevant records including reconciliations.
- Reviewing of data to be submitted to FBR for allowance of exemptions.
- Ensure judicious recognition of customer and vendor credits on account of taxes deducted/ collected at source.
- Monitoring internal controls and processes governing Tax Compliance.
- Maintaining dashboards for tax assessments and proceeding statuses.
- Completing responses and schedules in preparation for income tax and sales tax audits.
- Judiciously managing audits and examinations by Federal and provincial tax authorities to ensure that examinations are successfully resolved with the best outcomes for the company.
- Developing tax strategies to assist the CFO in being tax-compliant.
- Identifying tax problems and developing solutions.
- Monitoring developments in tax legislation.
- Informing management and staff of developments in tax legislation.
- Ensuring corporate compliance and timely filing of returns/ forms with SECP and Registrar in accordance with applicable corporate laws.
- Building and maintaining relationships with external tax consultants and government authorities.
