Export Manager

Panthera International is seeking a highly skilled Export Manager with at least 5 years of experience to oversee and optimize our export operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate advanced expertise in regulatory compliance, trade instruments, supply chain management, and team leadership. This pivotal role requires mastery of customs tariff classifications and the ability to work directly with trade bodies to streamline documentation and subsidies. The Export Manager will lead a team of 5 persons to ensure efficient order processing, compliance with international standards, and smooth coordination with freight forwarders and customs agents under tight deadlines. This role demands a strategic thinker who collaborates effectively across production, logistics, finance, and external partners. Proficiency with digital tools such as MS Excel and ERP systems is essential for accurate tariff calculation, shipment tracking, and financial reconciliations. The Export Manager plays a key role in negotiating optimal freight rates and ensuring packaging meets global standards to reduce costs. The position requires both meticulous attention to detail in managing letters of credit, trade compliance, and currency regulations, as well as strong leadership skills to guide and develop the export team.
Responsibilities

• Master the identification and application of Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and Pakistan Customs Tariff (PCT) codes to guarantee accurate customs documentation and prevent shipment delays or compliance issues.
• Manage all legal and verification processes with local trade entities such as the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) and Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) to secure Certificates of Origin and facilitate export subsidies and rebates.
• Review Letters of Credit (LCs) meticulously to detect and resolve discrepancies, ensuring timely payment releases and smooth commercial bank transactions.
• Ensure compliance with State Bank of Pakistan regulations related to export proceeds realization, Form-E processing, and local tax or duty drawback procedures.
• Coordinate with production and warehouse teams to confirm that product packaging adheres strictly to international requirements, including exact weight, packing list accuracy, and volumetric limitations.
• Establish and maintain direct communication with tier-1 freight forwarders and express courier services like DHL to negotiate competitive rates for air and sea freight and efficiently route shipments to key destinations such as Detroit and European hubs.
• Lead, manage, and mentor a team of export assistants and customs clearing agents, delegating tasks effectively to meet rigorous deadlines without sacrificing quality or compliance.
• Utilize advanced MS Excel capabilities and ERP software to handle complex calculations of tariffs, shipping volumes, and duty drawbacks, as well as to monitor real-time shipment statuses and historical trade data.
• Develop and implement strategies for supply chain optimization to reduce costs and improve shipment speed and reliability.
• Continuously update knowledge of international trade regulations, customs laws, and export market trends to maintain competitive advantages and regulatory adherence.
• Drive process improvements, enhance operational workflows, and generate regular performance reports to senior management.
• Maintain high standards of data accuracy and documentation to support audits, regulatory inspections, and internal reviews.
