The Team Lead Senior System Administrator for the Backup Team will be responsible for managing a team of backup administrators, ensuring the integrity and availability of critical backups, and implementing improvements in backup management processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead a team of backup administrators.
- Develop, suggest, and implement changes in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for proper backup management.
- Ensure all critical backups are maintained, verified, and restorable within required time frames.
- Monitor and maintain backup systems to ensure their optimal performance and availability.
- Coordinate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of backup systems.
- Provide hands-on support and troubleshooting for backup-related issues.
- Perform regular audits and health checks on backup systems and processes.
- Stay updated with the latest backup methodologies and technologies.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and company policies.
Requirements
- Preferably Master’s degree or a 4 years Bachelors in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in backup management and system administration.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Veeam, Commvault, and Backup Exec.
- Strong understanding of the latest backup methodologies and technologies.
- Proven leadership skills and experience managing a technical team.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification in backup solutions (e.g., Veeam Certified Engineer, Commvault Certified Professional).
- Experience with cloud backup solutions.
- Familiarity with data protection regulations and compliance requirements.
